Welcome to the Maryland School for Jewish Education's (MSJE) website. We serve the DMV and pride ourselves on our inclusiveness, providing a high-quality education for grades K-7, bar/bat mitzvah preparation, and free High Holiday Services.   

 

The goal of MSJE is to teach students about the essentials of being Jewish and instill a sense of pride in them. MSJE promotes a sense of spirituality and a sincere pride in their culture.

 

While MSJE is unaffiliated with a synagogue, our teachings are reform in nature.

We're excited to announce that classes this year will be held at the Charles E. Smith Lower School Campus (1901 E Jefferson St, Rockville, MD 20852)!

Our Director is Joel Hager who brings a wealth of experience from the world of independent and private education, and is also currently a teacher at the Bullis School. He holds two Bachelor degrees, a Masters degree, and they are complemented by a Certificate in Holocaust and Judaic Studies. Joel has a passion for Project Based Learning and is excited to introduce these concepts to MSJE as well.  Our teachers are an experienced team with a deep background in Judaism and each has years of experience teaching in a Hebrew School setting.
