Nurit Sharon - 3rd Grade - Kitah Gimel

Shalom everyone,

I hope that you had an amazing summer! I'm Nurit Sharon and this will be my 6th year at MSJE.  I enjoy teaching very much and look forward to another great year! I am an ESOL teacher and have taught English in Japan for two years (at all levels).  Additionally, I taught Hebrew to Ethiopians in Israel and am a Hebrew tutor. My family is from Israel so I grew up loving Hebrew and Israeli culture.  I enjoy singing in Hebrew, Israeli dancing, and eating Israeli food.  In 3rd grade we will be learning beginning Hebrew conversation, singing Hebrew songs, and doing some Hebrew reading. In addition, we will also learn about Jewish holidays and Bible Stories.  I am glad to be working at MSJE and am sure that this will be a great and fulfilling year, just as the others were!

I live in Potomac,  Maryland and attended  a Jewish orthodox school called Melvin J Berman Hebrew Academy. After  graduating , I decided to go to Israel for a year and enrolled in a program called Young Judea. My year abroad really was a growing experience from which I learned how to be a responsible and independent person.  My life experience and knowledge of Judaism and Israel will be a great resource in the classroom and I hope I will be able to share my experiences and knowledge with my class this year.

Micah Chervin - 6th Grade - Kitah Vav

Hey everyone! My name is Micah Chervin. I am currently a second year Philosophy and Jewish Studies major at the University of Maryland. I am from Atlanta, Georgia and attended the Weber School. Through my life-long attendance of Jewish day school as well as Jewish summer camp at Ramah Darom I've gained a very solid grasp of Hebrew, Jewish religious customs, as well as Jewish thought. The second semester of my senior year of high school was spent in Israel where I captured a truly new and nuanced understanding of the Judaics I had learned in the years prior. This is my first year teaching at MSJE. I'm looking forward to getting to know all your 6th graders and I'm confident that this year will be fun, productive, and enjoyable.
